Rev 8:4-5 (NKJV)

For those who know, and believe, the Bible, we have entered an unprecedented time in history. Each day draws us closer to the days of Revelation 6 and the breaking of the seals of the great scroll. I believe that we will see the days of Revelation 6 and the breaking of the first six seals. These will be days of trial, turmoil, war, famine, and great spiritual warfare. But they will also be the days of the Church’s finest hour. With the earthquake of the sixth seal and the marking of the 144,000 Jewish witness (Revelation 7), I believe that the true Church will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

¹⁶ For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. ¹⁷ Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. ¹⁸ Therefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Thess 4:16-18 (NKJV)

We will not be here on the earth to witness the effects of the breaking of the seventh seal. We will not see the fire from the altar of God in Heaven, His wrath, being poured out upon the earth (Revelation 8:5).

⁹ For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁰ who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. ¹¹ Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

1 Thess 5:9-11 (NKJV)

However, we will be here on earth for the prelude to these events. And even now, the prelude begins! How are we to live, what are we to do during such a time as this? The answers are clear. We are to be holy in conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, being diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless. We are to be about the Father’s business. We are to be the continuance of the Lord Jesus’ works. We are to be preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom in all the world, we are to be doing Isaiah 61:1-4 and destroying the works of the enemy!

¹ "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; ² To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, ³ To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified." ⁴ And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Herein is our great challenge, destroying the works of the enemy. We have entered the greatest period of spiritual warfare the world has ever known. This is Satan’s last stand. Literally, all hell is being thrown at the earth and especially at the true Church. To effectively deal with this spiritual warfare, maybe to even survive it, we must understand what is really going in the spiritual realm. What is the devil doing, what weapons is he using, what deceptions has he unleashed upon the earth? The purpose of this study is to see if we can find in scripture any insights into the nature of the spiritual warfare specific to these last days. We begin by looking at our Lord’s words to us about these days in Matt. 24 and Luke 21.

Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you.

First we note that these will be days of great deception.

Mat 24:24 "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.

This great deception will include people who can do great signs and wonders and are acclaimed to be prophets and even messiahs. This great deception is designed to mislead the Christians (the elect).

Luk 21:26 men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

What “things” are coming upon the world that will cause such great fear?

Mat 24:37 "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.

This is a key for our study. These days will be like the days of Noah. So the question is, what in terms of spiritual warfare was going on in the days of Noah?

Luk 17:26 "And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:

Luk 17:27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

In light of Daniel 2:43 it is interesting to note that the issue of marriage and being given in marriage is brought out here.

Dan 2:43 "And in that you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery.

The reference is to the ten kings that make up the last kingdom, the kingdom of the Antichrist. The “iron” is mixed with the “clay” in the seed or offspring of men.

Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel."

Here we see that the devil has seed or offspring as well as the woman. Just what these are is a good question. What we might surmise from these verses is that there is a big issue involving the “seed” or DNA of man. This would seem to be especially important in the last days, the days of the ten kings, kingdom of the Antichrist.

To find out what was happening spiritually in the days of Noah, we turn to Genesis 6.

Gen 6:1 Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them,

Gen 6:2 that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.

Here the story gets interesting. The phrase “the sons of God” is an OT phrase for angels. Now we know that angels have glorified bodies, can manifest themselves on earth, can eat, slay great armies, are very desirable to homosexuals (Sodom and Gomorra), and we can “entertain them unawares” to this very day. What happened is that some angels gave up there place in Heaven, came to earth, took the daughters of men (literally, daughters of Adam meaning all women) for wives, and produced offspring that were genetically part human and part fallen or evil angel. A genetic DNA defect was introduced into the human race.

Gen 6:3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."

Gen 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore {children} to them. Those were the mighty men who {were} of old, men of renown.

The offspring of the evil angels were called Nephilim translated giants or earth born, the fallers, rebels or apostates. They were on earth in Noah’s day and note, also afterward!

Gen 6:5 Then the LORD [fn] saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every intent of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.

The result of this genetic mixing of DNA was terrible.

Gen 6:9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

The result of this genetic mixing was very bad. Bad to the point that only Noah and his family and Enoch were considered by God to be “perfect” or without spot or blemish. The word used for perfect is the same word used as in “perfect sacrifice” meaning without blemish or defect. In other words, without the genetic defect in men produced by evil angels having children with human females.

So God destroyed all mankind except Noah and his family. The hybrid humans, the Nephilim all died, but we know that they came back later and were found in the Promised Land by Caleb (the sons of Anak). Many other tribal peoples of the area were said to be “giants” (the Emites, Rephaites, the Caphtorites, etc. from Deut. 2) and Goliath and his brothers were “giants” or Nephilim. The problem was so bad that God instructed Joshua and the Israelites to wipe out complete whole tribes. This raises a lot of questions for us. What happened to the spirits of the Nephilim when they died in the flood? How did these Nephilim reappear after the flood. Do they exist today? Do the evil angels that produce Nephilim exist today? Does Jesus atonement apply to them? And does any of this relate to the N.T.? Let’s see.

2Pe 2:4 For God did not spare even the angels when they sinned; he threw them into hell, [fn] in gloomy caves [fn] and darkness until the judgment day.

So angels sinned when they came down to earth and married human women. These fallen or evil angels were thrown into Tartaros (translated hell here). This is the darkest, deepest abyss of hell or Gehenna, a place of spiritual imprisonment. There they will stay until the judgment day when they are destroyed in the second death, the lake of fire.

2Pe 2:5 And God did not spare the ancient world--except for Noah and his family of seven. Noah warned the world of God's righteous judgment. Then God destroyed the whole world of ungodly people with a vast flood.

This genetic contamination produced a world of ungodly people, which God destroyed in the flood.

2Pe 2:6 Later, he turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into heaps of ashes and swept them off the face of the earth. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people.

Here again we see this genetic disorder producing ungodly people that God destroys.

Jud 1:6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;

Again, some angels gave up there place in Heaven and left their own “abode” or habitation (oiketerion), a word the can mean a place of habitation or a body as a dwelling place for the spirit. They gave up their heavenly place of habitation, and perhaps even their heavenly body to have sex with human women! Now they are in everlasting chains under darkness, the darkness of the nether world or Tartaros.

Jud 1:7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Note here that not only had the given themselves over to sexual immorality but they had also gone after strange flesh, perhaps fallen, evil angels?

What can we concluded from all of this? Satan has apparently successfully tempted some angels to give up their place in heaven and come to earth for sex. The angels that began this genetic disorder by producing children that were part human and part evil angel in Noah’s day are now imprisoned in Tartaros. God destroyed all of these hybrid humans, who were evil through and through, in the flood. But, after the flood they did reappear. This can only mean that other angels come down and impregnated women producing Nehpilim once again. Is there any Biblical evidence to say that this process stopped after the O.T.?

Deu 3:11 "For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the giants. [fn] Indeed his bedstead [was] an iron bedstead. ([Is] it not in Rabbah of the people of Ammon?) Nine cubits [is] its length and four cubits its width, according to the standard cubit.

This would imply that Og was the last of the giants or Rephilim. His bed was about 13.5 feet long implying that he could have been 12 to 13 feet tall.

Jos 13:12 all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (he alone was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for Moses struck them and dispossessed them.

Here again we see that Og alone was left of the remnant of the Rephaim for Moses struck them and dispossessed them. Moses took possession of their land and the kingdom of Og in Bashan was no more.

However, how do we explain Goliath and his brothers and other Bible characters that are said to the ancestors of the Rephilim?

1Ch 20:4 Now it came about after this, that war broke out at Gezer with the Philistines; then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Sippai, one of the descendants of the giants, and they were subdued.

1Ch 20:5 And there was war with the Philistines again, and Elhanan the son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear {was} like a weaver's beam.

1Ch 20:6 Again there was war at Gath, where there was a man of {great} stature who had twenty-four fingers and toes, six {fingers on each hand} and six {toes on each foot;} and he also was descended from the giants.

Note the genetic malformation.

1Ch 20:7 When he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David's brother, killed him.

1Ch 20:8 These were descended from the giants in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.

It would seem that even after Og there were descendents of the Rephilim on earth.

The key identifier of the Nephilim or giants was there physical size. Og, judging by the size of his bed could have been about 12 to 13 feet tall. Goliath was about 9 feet tall. By David’s time their stature was probably diminished even more as the servants of David were able to fell them. So, what would the descendents of the giants look like today? Would they even be recognizable by their size alone? I doubt it. Could this mean that there could be descendents of the Nephilim among us today? Even more, is there any reason to believe that evil or fallen angels could not be with us today as “angels unawares” even as good angels can be? The implications for us today are serious. This would mean that in terms of our spiritual warfare, we could be dealing with demons (disembodied Spirits), humans with evil angel DNA genetic contamination, and evil angels in human bodies. When the evil angels in human form die they are thrown into Tartaros. What about the Nephilim, these half human, half fallen angel beings?

Jesus became a perfect human to sacrifice His life to atone for the sins of humans. Jesus was born of a woman, but fathered by the Holy Spirit. He as a human was fully human, but in His genes was the DNA of not an evil angel, but of God. When we are born again we are like Jesus born of the Holy Spirit and impregnated with the DNA of God. It would seem that Jesus died for true humans, not some hybrid cross between humans and evil angels.

What happened then to the spirits of the Nephilim when they died in the flood? They became disembodied, evil spirits. We call them demons today. How about Og and Goliath and the other post flood Nephilim or ancestors of the Nephilim? Is the evil, disembodied spirit of Og still around and working today? How about Jezebel? We certainly do deal with the Spirit of Jezebel every day in our world. Could it be that the human despots of the past, were all Nephilim (or the descendents thereof), and their spirits are some of the powers and principalities that we war against today? If so then the spirits of the evil Roman Emperors, of Hitler, and of the truly evil men and women of history are some of the very demons that we must deal with today. This view certainly helps explain the demons called, the Prince of Persia, the Prince of Greece, Baal, the Babylonian gods, the Grecian gods, the Egyptian gods, and to this day the new age gods and goddesses. The mythology of the ancients certainly reflects this understanding of the mixing of spiritual beings (angels) with humans producing unconstrained evil in the world, and the worship of all sorts of gods other than the one true God.

Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual {forces} of wickedness in the heavenly {places.}

Rulers - arche, the origin or beginning or evil, Satan and his highest-level demonic leaders in the heavenly realm.

Powers - exousia, demonic rulers over government and judicial maters on earth. This would include principalities like the Prince of Persia, Prince of Greece, etc.

World forces – kosmokrator, are high-ranking demons. The word is also used as a word for the angel of death who is one of those high-ranking demons. Spirits of Antichrist and Jezebel might be considered among these demons. They have rule and influence worldwide.

Spiritual forces of wickedness – poneria, spirits of depravity, iniquity, wickedness; demons that work all sorts of evil, malice, etc. These are the lesser demons under authority of others that are set out to attack people. Things like spirits of infirmity, perversion, witchcraft, etc. These are the demons we commonly deal with in deliverance.

What does this all mean to us today in our spiritual warfare? First, what is this coming great deception that is designed to deceive even the elect? And what are these “things” coming upon the whole world that shake the powers of heaven and cause such great fear on earth? Following the scenario that we have developed, there is the possibility that humans are here or are coming that have DNA contaminated with the DNA of evil angels. There may also be evil angels in human form with us. Will these be or even are the world’s power brokers and leaders, some in the limelight, others hidden away in back rooms of inequity? Daniel 2 tells us that this will be a significant problem in the kingdom of the Antichrist. The Beast from the sea, Antichrist, and his cohort, the False Prophet are the most well known of these part human, part evil or fallen angel. To seduce the world, the contaminated humans, evil fallen angels, and demons will be used by Satan to perpetrate the great deception. This deception will involve “things” coming upon the whole world, things that will shake the powers of heaven and cause great fear on earth. Some of these “things” are natural disasters, war, famine, economic collapses, strange unnatural events and occurrences like UFOs, etc. But perhaps the greatest of these “things”, the most dangerous and most “hidden” are these demonic agents themselves. Does “as in the days of Noah” mean that the evil angels and the Nephilim are coming back?

Let’s look at the world today to see if we can discern what great deceptions are already among us. We do see evil being called good and good being called evil. We see immorality being called modern and right. We see people crying peace when there is no peace. We see self, and in general humans being elevated to the position of gods. We see irrationality in decisions that are being made to deal with world humanitarian, economic and political issues. We see a new openness and interest in supernatural phenomena. We are also seeing great numbers of people seeing and experiencing phenomena that cannot be explained naturally. People are seeing things that defy the laws of physics. A lot of this is talked about in terms of Unidentified Flying Objects or UFO’s. Others are experiencing encounters with other worldly beings of various sorts. These things are being sent by Satan to set up the great deception. What is becoming apparent is that things from another dimension, the spiritual dimension, are making their appearance in our world more and more. The veil or gulf between our physical world and the multidimensional spiritual world is being breached. The “things” coming upon our world are things, or consequences of things, from the spiritual world. The ancestors of the Nephilim and evil fallen angels are here, the demons are here, and the UFO’s (demonic manifestations) are here. We must deal with them.

At the same time, conditions in our world are going downhill at a staggering rate. World wide economic trouble, wars, famine, disease, irresolvable trouble in the Middle East, nuclear proliferation especially in the hands of irrational despots who are probably ancestors of the Nephilim, world leaders buying and lying their way into positions of power (also probably ancestors of the Nephilim), and in the midst of all of this, probably a soon coming war in the Middle East involving nuclear weapons. Now here comes the deception, what if someone, or something, from the spiritual world manifests in the physical world and seems to miraculously bring resolution to all of this mess? Heralded as the Messiah and worshipped? For sure!

So, if even only some of all of this is truth, how does it affect our spiritual warfare? If we are not to be deceived, and if we are to help others not be deceived, we must understand the deception and the very nature of Satan’s end day’s game plan. We must know the written Word and the Lord, not just know of Him or about Him. It is the Truth that will keep us, and set us free from the deception. We must also know God’s game plan for these end days and work in accordance with this plan. Otherwise we could find ourselves fighting God himself.

With respect to praying for the world and its leaders, how should be pray? If some of these leaders are proven demonic despots, or if the Lord reveals to us that some are modern day “Nephilim”, or fallen angels, “as in the days of Noah”, how should be pray for or about them? I suggest that these are the enemies of God, sold out tools of Satan, not subject to redemption and we should pray as King David prayed about God’s enemies in the Psalms (Psalm 2, 3, 21, 37, 45, 68, 94, 139, and so many more). They need to be, and will be destroyed by the Lord at His coming. We need to pray that their deceptions be exposed, that their efforts to build and keep people in bondage, darkness, in fear, confusion and hopelessness be hindered. We pray against them to bind and slow down their efforts to carry out Satan’s last day’s game plan to the end that many will be saved.

Certainly, anyone who willingly submits to the will of a Nephilim or an evil, fallen angel gives an open invitation to the demonic and opens the door to sure disaster. But then there is the problem of the offspring or ancestors of the Nephilim. The DNA or genetic defect, though diluted is passed down through the generational linage, an ancestral sin if you will. This “genetic contamination” gives the demonic rights to an individual until it is removed. Like any sin or disease or other human defect, Jesus paid the price for it. But, it must be recognized, confessed and covered by the atonement of Jesus to be removed.

Remember our primary job! It is to continue Jesus’ work of destroying the works of the enemy in people’s lives. It is to call people “out of Babylon”, out of the darkness of this present, evil world age and into the marvelous light of God and His Kingdom. It is to “preach good tidings to the poor; to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; ² To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, ³ To console those who mourn in Zion”. Through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, God has given us everything we need to be more than conquers, victorious in all the assignments He has and will give us in the days ahead.

Prepare, stand up, and move out Army of God. The battle has commenced. The time is NOW!
