1 Ch 12:32 Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.

The sons of Issachar were intelligent men, who understood the signs of the times, well versed in political affairs, and knew what was proper to be done in all the exigencies of human life; and who now perceived that it was both the duty and political interest of Israel to advance David to the throne.Today we seek sons and daughters of Issachar, men and women who understand the times we are living in and know what is to be done in all the exigencies of human life to advance King Jesus to His throne.

This blog is devoted to seeking Biblical truth related to current world events.

Encouragement for the days ahead

Sunday, June 20, 2021

During prayer this morning in my mind’s eye I saw a ferocious storm. Thunder crashing, lightning striking in many places, and bombs exploding. There was a sense of chaos everywhere. Then the words from Psalm 27 came to mind.

[Psa 27:1, 3, 5 NASB20] (1) [A Psalm] of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom should I fear? The LORD is the defense of my life; Whom should I dread? ... (3) If an army encamps against me, My heart will not fear; If war arises against me, In [spite of] this I am confident. ... (5) For on the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; He will hide me in the secret place of His tent; He will lift me up on a rock.

As troubles arise around us, stand on this promise! The LORD will hide us from the storms all around us in His tabernacle (“sok, His den or liar”, the liar of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah). In the secret place of His tent (ohel – His dwelling place), the place of His presence, we will be safe and protected. The LORD will lift us up onto a “sur” (a strong rock cliff high above the turmoil below) where we will be safe!

Stand on these promises and the promises of Psalm 91 in the days ahead.

[Psa 91:1-9 NASB20] (1) One who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will lodge in the shadow of the Almighty. (2) I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!" (3) For it is He who rescues you from the net of the trapper And from the deadly plague. (4) He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may take refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and wall. (5) You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day; (6) Of the plague that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that devastates at noon. (7) A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, [But] it shall not approach you. (8) You will only look on with your eyes And see the retaliation [against] the wicked. (9) For you have made the LORD, my refuge, The Most High, your dwelling place.

The word of the LORD to me for the days ahead of us, and for you if you will accept it is, “In the midst of the storms you will walk of the water if you keep your eyes on Me”. (Matt 14:27-29)
