1 Ch 12:32 Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.

The sons of Issachar were intelligent men, who understood the signs of the times, well versed in political affairs, and knew what was proper to be done in all the exigencies of human life; and who now perceived that it was both the duty and political interest of Israel to advance David to the throne.Today we seek sons and daughters of Issachar, men and women who understand the times we are living in and know what is to be done in all the exigencies of human life to advance King Jesus to His throne.

This blog is devoted to seeking Biblical truth related to current world events.

PEACE PEACE WHAN THERE IS NO PEACE

PEACE PEACE WHAN THERE IS NO PEACE

D.P Weary – May 2023

Updated - February 2025

Update: This was written in May of 2023. It is now February 2025 and current events around the world, especially in the USA and Israel are making the article even more relevant. With the coming of President Trump, the talk of ending wars, and of resolving the Israeli wars, there is in general just the perception that an era of peace is coming, especially for the USA and Israel.

Is a day of a false sense of peace and safety approaching, especially for Israel; a day that will suddenly end with war in Israel?

What does the scripture say about this day when the people of Israel will be saying "Peace, peace when there is no peace"?

[Eze 13:5 NKJV] "You have not gone up into the gaps to build a wall for the house of Israel to stand in battle on the day of the LORD.

[Eze 13:10 NKJV] "Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying, 'Peace!' when [there is] no peace--and one builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered [mortar]--

[Eze 13:16 NKJV] '[that is], the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her when [there is] no peace,' " says the Lord GOD.

[Eze 38:8 NLT] 8 A long time from now you will be called into action. In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be enjoying peace after recovering from war and after its people have returned from many lands to the mountains of Israel. (NKJV - all of them dwell safely.)

Ezekiel tells us that the day when the people of Israel are saying "peace", this is no real peace. The time is associated with the day of the LORD.

[Jer 6:1 NKJV] "O you children of Benjamin, Gather yourselves to flee from the midst of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa, And set up a signal-fire in Beth Haccerem; For disaster appears out of the north, And great destruction.

[Jer 6:4 NKJV] "Prepare war against her; Arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe to us, for the day goes away, For the shadows of the evening are lengthening.

[Jer 6:14 NKJV] They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, Saying, 'Peace, peace!' When [there is] no peace.

[Jer 6:17 NKJV] Also, I set watchmen over you, [saying], 'Listen to the sound of the trumpet!' But they said, 'We will not listen.'

[Jer 6:22 NKJV] Thus says the LORD: "Behold, a people comes from the north country, And a great nation will be raised from the farthest parts of the earth.

[Jer 6:23 NKJV] They will lay hold on bow and spear; They [are] cruel and have no mercy; Their voice roars like the sea; And they ride on horses, As men of war set in array against you, O daughter of Zion."

[Jer 6:24 NKJV] We have heard the report of it; Our hands grow feeble. Anguish has taken hold of us, Pain as of a woman in labor.

[Jer 6:25 NKJV] Do not go out into the field, Nor walk by the way. Because of the sword of the enemy, Fear [is] on every side.

[Jer 8:11 NKJV] For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly, Saying, 'Peace, peace!' When [there is] no peace.

[Jer 8:19 NKJV] Listen! The voice, The cry of the daughter of my people From a far country: "[Is] not the LORD in Zion? [Is] not her King in her?" "Why have they provoked Me to anger With their carved images--With foreign idols?"

[Jer 8:20 NKJV] "The harvest is past, The summer is ended, And we are not saved!"

Jeremiah tells us the day when people are saying "peace, peace", there is no real peace. This time is a time of blowing of the trumpet, and disaster in the form of war appears out of the farthest parts of the north. The attackers are cruel with no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea, and they ride on horses. The time is described as like a woman in labor. The "hurt of the daughter of My people" has been healed slightly, but there is no real peace. It is a time of the Lord's anger. The harvest is past, summer is ended, and Israel is not saved.

[1Th 5:1 NKJV] But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you.

[1Th 5:2 NKJV] For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

[1Th 5:3 NKJV] For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians when the people of Israel are saying, "Peace and safety!", then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. This is associated with "the times and the seasons".

[Rev 6:1 NKJV] Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see."

[Rev 6:2 NKJV] And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

[Rev 6:3 NKJV] When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see."

[Rev 6:4 NKJV] Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that [people] should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.

[Dan 9:26 NKJV] "And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it [shall be] with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

[Dan 9:27 NKJV] Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week, He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate."

The commonality of all these scriptures is that they are all associated with "the day of the LORD"; the last days. There is a false sense or time of a false peace and a time of war that is soon to follow. It is a day of blowing of the trumpet; days associated with the end times. The attackers come from the farthest parts of the north, This is a phrase associated with not only countries north of Israel, but also the place where the angels gather (Isa 14:13); implying a supernatural component to the war. The attackers are cruel and merciless, phrases associated with a demonic component to the war in both Joel and Revelation. These days are called the days of the birth pains of a woman in labor. These days are the days of the LORD's anger or wrath. These days are at the end of the harvest and summer.

In the New Testament, we learn that these days are called the days of the birth pains when sudden destruction comes upon Israel. These days are also associated with "the times and the seasons"; the feasts of Israel.

What we can surmise from all of this is that just before the days of Israel's great trials of the last days there will be a time of a sense of peace; a false peace. Then war will come with a supernatural or demonic component to the war. In Revelation, the possible times of a false peace might be after the wars of Revelation chapter 6 when the Antichrist arranges a seven-year cease-fire or peace treaty that begins the seven years of tribulation for Israel. This false sense of peace possibly could last until the middle of the seven years of tribulation when the Antichrist breaks the covenant of peace and the 'times of Jacobs's trouble" begin.

But, Paul's teaching in 1 Thessalonians 5 about these times is associated with the rapture of the Church before the day of the Lord and the wrath of God is poured out. This would indicate to us that the time of the false peace and safety occurs before the wars of Revelation chapter 6 or possibly just before the Antichrist negotiates the seven-year peace treaty. The wars of chapter 6 could be the sudden destruction from the north that initiates the times of trouble or testing of the last days that come upon Israel (Rev 2:10). Or perhaps the sense of false peace lasts until the Antichrist breaks the covenant after 3 ½ years of the 7 years of tribulation. This seems unlikely because who would say there is peace and safety during the great natural disasters of the first 3 ½ years of the tribulation?

For us today we see the precursor events occurring that could lead to an era of false peace and then the war of Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 6. What we will see before this war is a time of a false sense of peace and safety, especially in Israel. This implies that events take place where the current turmoil, wars, and just plain evil in our world today, especially in Israel seem to be controlled to an extent that people will be crying, "Peace, peace, and safety" when in reality there is no peace!

Many current-day 'prophets' are prophesying such a day. They could be right! But this day will be quickly followed by sudden destruction in Israel; war in Israel and the events of the last days just before the Lord's return.

Update: From the conditions in the USA, Israel, and indeed the world in 2023 to today, just look at what has happened and is happening. Some are calling it a “miracle.” I call it the hand of God! His great plan is unfolding right before our eyes. If this time of a false peace in coming upon us, then the time of the rapture of the true church, the beginning of the times of God’s wrath, and the Lord’s second coming is just around the corner.

Look up saints of the Lord Yeshua, your full redemption draws very close!

[Luk 21:28 NKJV] 28 "Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."

[Rom 8:23 NKJV] 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

[Eph 1:13-14 NKJV] 13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

We are just watching a movie

We are just watching a movie.

D.P. Weary

February, 2025

There are people on social media proclaiming that the current events occurring in our nation these days have all been rescripted and planned long ago and that we are just “watching a Movie” play out. Well, in fact they are right but not for the reasons they are proclaiming. They are proclaiming that these current events were secretly planned out by a group of military and political personages several years ago and now we are seeing these plans being put into place.

The truth about this “movie,” the things happening in our nation and indeed in the world right now, is that were scripted and the movie made a long, long time ago. The scrip is well documented. It is called “The Greatest Story Ever Told.” The “movie” has been playing for a very long time. Today we are not only watching, but playing a role in the move near its end.

This great story began when God created the heavens and the earth.

[Gen 1:1, 26-28 NKJV] 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. ... 26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

So, who is this “God – Elohim,” this “Us” that wrote the story; the one who made man or humans in “Our” image? The proper name of God in the Old Testament is Jehovah.

[Psa 2:6-7 NKJV] 6 "Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion." 7 "I will declare the decree: The LORD (Jehovah) has said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

Jehovah is the “Father” God that begat a Son. In the O.T. before His incarnation that Son was known as “The Angel of the Lord” At His birth, The Angel of the Lord became Jeshua (Jesus), the begotten Son of Jehovah. But God, Elohim, is more than the Father and the Son. Elohim is also the Holy Spirit.

[Jhn 4:23-26 NKJV] 23 "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

The Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. God is Spirit! Our Great Story, the movie we are watching and participating was written by Elohim, the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This story always was, is, and will be. It was written by a God who is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning, and the end.

The essential overview of the story is well document in the Bible from the beginning of the creation of the heavens and the earth in Gennesis 1:1 to the end in Revelation 22:21 with the creation of a new heavens and new earth. Truly, we are just “watching a movie” play out before our eyes.

John the disciple actually looked and saw the end of the “movie.”

[Rev 4:1 NKJV] 1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this."

[Rev 6:1-2 NKJV] 1 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see." 2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

If we know the story, the Bible, we can know that we are seeing and participating times that are very near the end of the story. One thousand years earth time before the end of the story a great event occurs. Jeshua, the Son of God, the Messiah, returns to the earth as The King of kings and Lord of lords to establish His Kingdom here on this earth for one thousand earth years before He makes all things new and creates and new heaven and earth. His return will be a day of judgment. The unjust and unrighteous people of this current earth will be judged and the earth cleansed of all evil and unrighteousness. Only those that have made Jeshua, Jesus, their Lord, and Savior. Only those that have put their hope, trust, and faith in Him will be saved from the judgment and wrath of God that is coming with His return to the earth.

The big question is, where do you stand? If you are not a disciple of Jeshua and have not made Him your Lord and Savior, today is the day of decision. Tomorrow may be too late.

[Joe 3:14 NKJV] 14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

[Rev 22:7, 10, 12, 14, 17, 20-21 NKJV] 7 "Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." ... 10 And he said to me, "Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. ... 12 "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. ... 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. ... 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. ... 20 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
