Exposing
the real battle for the soul of America
Last year
there were several prophetic words released to the effect that God is moving to expose evil in America in the coming
months. Looking at current events, we see a moral decline everywhere. We see
violence in the streets. We have seen
women marching the streets in vulgar costumes, carrying vile signs and posters,
and shouting vile profanities. We have seen irrational anger and rage expressed
in multitude of ways, even calling for the killing of people, including the
president of the United States. We watch as the news media openly distorts
facts, lies, and deceives many. We see unveiled hypocrisy manifesting itself
everywhere. We see corruption in our
government. As Dr. Ben Carson has recently said; “I knew there was corruption,
but the level of corruption throughout the political system is overwhelming”. Around the world we are seeing the rise of violent,
demonic evil in ISIS and Islamic terrorism with men and women committing vile
acts and atrocities that are hard to even comprehend. Indeed, God is exposing these great evils for
all to see.
If we label
what we are seeing, we see lies, deception, foul mouths, sexual perversion,
uncontrolled anger and rage, violence, lawlessness, death, destruction, corruption,
and we see gross evidence of manipulation, and control through disinformation,
chemical substances, fear, and violence. These are all evidences of what is behind all
of this. These are all evidences of demonic activity. These are nature of the
devil and his weapons of spiritual warfare.
These weapons include:
fear, compromise, illness, discouragement, deceptions, misdirection, confusion,
pride, presumptions, lies, death, disobedience, impurity, lust, envy, jealousy,
abusive and absolute power, hate, rage, rebellion, and miscommunication. Some
of his favorite weapons are pride, presumption, lust, envy, jealousy, hate,
rage, rebellion, disobedience, and lies and deception.
[Eph 6:12 NLT] 12 For we are not
fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and
authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and
against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
I believe
that what we are seeing and experiencing is the devil coming down in great
wrath, knowing that his time is short, and using vulnerable men and women to
cause great turmoil not only in America, but in the entire world. Satan’s goal
is to destroy the lives of as many human souls as possible, both now, here on
earth, and for all eternity, before the Lord destroys him. Indeed, it seems that the devil has come in
like a flood.
[Isa 59:19 NKJV] 19 So shall they
fear The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the
sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up
a standard against him.
But, the
Lord has promised to “lift up a standard against him”. What do you suppose this
standard is? Do you think it just might be His Church? If we, the Church, are
this standard, how are we supposed to come against all of this evil?
Our weapons
are not carnal, but spiritual.
[2Co 10:3-6 NKJV] 3 For though we
walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of
our warfare [are] not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the
knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of
Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is
fulfilled.
What are some of these
weapons? They include prayer, gifts of the Holy Spirit, service, worship,
truth, praise, scripture, music, dance, the preaching of the cross (the Blood
of the Lamb), the names of God, prophetic acts, reconciliation, fasting,
spiritual mapping and research, the word of our testimony, obedience, devotion,
loyalty unto death, holiness, purity, humility, meekness, love, forgiveness, and
unity. All are important, but we cannot over estimate the power of prayer.
We are to use these
“weapons” to be light in a dark world, hope in the midst of hopelessness,
agents of reconciliation in a world of division, and agents of restoration in a
broken world. To those who are deceived, lost, and caught in evil strongholds of
thinking and behavior, we are to be God’s agents to proclaim the Gospel, to
bring truth to replace the lies believed, and to break the bondages that keep
men and women trapped in destruction lifestyles and behaviors. We are to
comfort those who mourn, to bring healing to the sick, and to set free those who
are oppressed. We are to continue the Lord Jesus’ work on earth in the power
and authority of the Holy Spirit.
[Isa 61:1-2 NASB] 1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is
upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners; 2 To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD And the
day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, ----. (also Luke 4:18)
To apply all of this
specifically to those individuals who are so displaying evidences of the evil
and atrocities we are seeing daily in our world, and especially in our nation,
how then should we live, and what then should we do? One thing we can do is
instead of railing against the individuals in the media, in politics, in the
“entertainment” industry and in business that are so obviously displaying the
evil that is using them, is to be praying for them. They are being held in
strongholds of the evil one and need to be set free. They are being deceived
and believe lies that are open doors for demonic influence and control. They
need to have a revelation of “truth”, both facts and data, and of He who is “Truth”,
even our Lord Jesus. We also need to be praying for all those in these various
places and offices who are standing up for truth and righteousness; praying for
wisdom, knowledge and understanding, protection, power, peace and protection.
Indeed, we find
ourselves in a very great spiritual battle, a war of the ages. I believe that
the Lord Jesus is calling His Church to rise up to battle. When we first meet
the Lord Jesus, we find ourselves on bended knee in the posture of confession,
repentance and humility before the gentle Sheppard, our savior. As He touches
us our posture changes to one on bended knee with our arms raised in praise,
worship, and gratefulness to our heavenly Father, to the Lord Jesus who died
for us, and to he Holy Spirit who is our teacher, advocate and the one who trains
us and empowers us to serve our Lord. Now I believe that we are being called to
come before our Lord in a new posture, the posture of one on bended knee,
kneeling before the Captain of the Armies of Heaven, being handed a great
spiritual sword, and being commissioned as a knight in the service of the King
of kings and Lord of lords.
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse.
And He who sat on him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He
judges and makes war. 12 His eyes [were] like a flame of fire, and on His head
[were] many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13
He [was] clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word
of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,
followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that
with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod
of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of
Almighty God. 16 And He has on [His] robe and on His thigh a name written: KING
OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. [Rev 19:11-16 NKJV]
Rise up o men and women
of God, our King is coming! Our battle
song is The Battle Hymn of the Republic, “Mine eyes have seen the Glory of the
coming of the Lord------“. And we sing, “Onward Christian Soldiers” as we
muster for the battles that lie ahead of us. Our battle cry is “Chazaq Amats” -
Be strong and courageous! The Lord spoke
to Joshua saying (and is saying to us today):
Tsavah chazaq
'amats `arats chathath YÄ•hovah 'elohiym kol 'asher yalak’.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do
not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you
go." [Jos 1:9 NASB]
