1 Ch 12:32 Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.

The sons of Issachar were intelligent men, who understood the signs of the times, well versed in political affairs, and knew what was proper to be done in all the exigencies of human life; and who now perceived that it was both the duty and political interest of Israel to advance David to the throne.Today we seek sons and daughters of Issachar, men and women who understand the times we are living in and know what is to be done in all the exigencies of human life to advance King Jesus to His throne.

A Day of New Beginnings

Today is October 10, 2020, or Tishri 22 on the Jewish calendar. It is Shemini Atzeret, the Eighth Day of Assembly, and the Age to Come. This day initiates what is called “the season of our joy”.

It is my prayer for all of you and our country that this day will be a day of new beginnings, a new season of blessings and favor from the LORD.
As a nation in September during the days of return and repentance, we called a solemn assembly and cried out to the LORD in repentance and return to Him. Let’s pray that the LORD’s response will be the same as it is written in Joel 2. Like in Joel 2, many of us, and indeed the nation, are in a great spiritual battle (Joel 2:1-11). Per God’s instructions in Joel 2:12-17, we did call a solemn assembly and turned to the LORD in repentance. As a nation, we have fallen far from the LORD and in righteousness we deserve judgment. But God is merciful beyond measure and our prayer is Hab 3:2.
[Hab 3:2 ESV] 2 O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
So now we pray that the prophecy of Joel 2:18-32 will be the LORD’s response to our prayers for mercy and this day of Shemini Atrzeret will be a day of new beginnings and blessings from the LORD for all of you, and for our nation.
Blessings and Shalom be unto all of you.
