Some
thoughts about the coming election
(10-25-2020) D.P. Weary
There is a great stirring in the spiritual world. This
coming election is not really about personalities or even issues, it is about
the Kingdom of God and the timing of God’s plan for the last days, the Day of
the Lord. This election is about the destiny of America and the timing of last
days events. This election
is going to be Biblical.
I believe that this election is a modern-day “Sodom and
Gomorrah” issue.
[Gen 18:20, 23-26, 32-33 NASB] 20
And the LORD said, "The
outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah is indeed great, and their sin is exceedingly
grave. ... 23 Abraham came near and said, "Will You indeed sweep away the righteous with the
wicked? 24 "Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city; will
You indeed sweep [it] away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty
righteous who are in it? 25 "Far be it from You to do such a thing, to
slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are
[treated] alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?" 26 So
the LORD said, "If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I
will spare the whole place on their account." ... 32 Then he said, "Oh may the Lord not be
angry, and I shall speak only this once; suppose ten are found there?" And
He said, "I will not destroy [it] on account of the ten." 33
As soon as He had finished speaking to Abraham the LORD departed, and Abraham
returned to his place.
Here are my thoughts about what this current election is
really about. And these thoughts are not only mine but are being shared by
other prophetic and watchmen voices these days. That is why I dare to share
them with you.
As intercessors today we stand as “Abrahamic” intercessors
pleading with God about a coming judgment against America. The outcry
of America is indeed great, and our sin is exceedingly grave. As
intercessors we say, “will you indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked?
Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?”
This is what I (and others) think the Lord is saying in
response to these questions.
I will not bring judgment to
America if enough righteous people can be found to re-elect my chosen servant to
the presidency of the United States. If he is re-elected, you will have four
more years of mercy and grace. If not, judgment will come. This election is
about the destiny of America and the timing of last days events.
I can guess just what this judgment will be. It will be just
what the people vote for. God will allow Satan and his human minions to
implement just what they say they will. Extreme government control, socialism,
and eventually globalism and a one-world government.
What about the righteous remnant among the wicked? When
there was not enough righteous left in Sodom and Gomorrah to stay judgment, God
removed the righteous from the scene of the judgment just as He removed Noah
and his family out of the judgment of the great flood.
[Gen 19:29 NASB] 29 Thus it came about, when God destroyed the cities
of the valley, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of
the overthrow when He overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.
So, when God’s judgment, His wrath, eventually comes upon
the earth in its fullness in the Day of the Lord, we can trust that He will get
His righteous ones out of the scene of the judgment, which at this time will be
the earth. This is the promise that God gives us in Psalm 27:5; Zep 2:3; Isa
26:20; 1 Thes 5:9; and Revelation 3:10.
[Psa 27:5 NASB] 5 For in the day of trouble He will
conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will
hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.
[Zep 2:3 NASB] 3 Seek the LORD, All
you humble of the earth Who have carried out His ordinances; Seek
righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden In the day of the LORD'S anger.
[Isa 26:20 NASB] 20 Come, my people, enter into your
rooms And close your doors behind you; Hide for a little while Until indignation runs [its]
course.
[1Th 5:9 NASB] 9 For God has not destined us for
wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
[Rev 3:10 NASB] 10 'Because you have kept the
word of My perseverance, I
also will keep you from (out of, from, by, away from) the hour of testing, that [hour] which is about to come upon the whole
world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
So, if these things are true, how then should we be praying?
Perhaps we should look to see how Daniel and Joel prayed when they were faced
with situations and times that were precursors to such times as we find
ourselves in.
As a nation, we have sinned and fallen away from our
Biblical roots and the ways of God. Daniel’s confession and prayer of Daniel 9
should be the prayer of intercessors these days. It is important to note that
Daniel does not present his supplications on account of any merits of the people
but on account of God’s great compassion. Daniel asks the Lord to hear and
forgive for the sake of God’s name because they are called by His name. There is a very important principle here. Our
prayers for our nation should not be focused on making things better for us,
but rather on the negative effect our sin is having on God’s name.
[Dan 9:16-19 NASB] 16 "O Lord,
in accordance with all Your righteous acts, let now Your anger and Your wrath turn away from Your
city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the iniquities
of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people [have become] a reproach to all those
around us. 17 "So now, our God, listen to the prayer of Your
servant and to his supplications, and for Your sake, O Lord, let Your face
shine on Your desolate sanctuary. 18 "O my God, incline Your ear and hear!
Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city which is called by Your
name; for we are not
presenting our supplications before You on account of any merits of our own,
but on account of Your great compassion. 19 "O Lord, hear! O Lord,
forgive! O Lord, listen and take action! For Your own sake, O my God, do not delay, because Your
city and Your people are called by Your name."
The principle is reflected in the New Testament.
[Rom 2:23-24 ESV] 23 You who boast
in the law dishonor God by breaking the law. 24 For, as it is written, "The name of God is
blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you."
Paul reminds the people of God (or a
nation that is supposed to be “one nation, under God”) that He said in the Old
Testament that the failure of these people to obey His commandments causes others
to blaspheme God.
We find this same principle in the book of Joel. A nation’s
sin will bring God’s righteous judgment. But when that nation that is supposed
to be “one nation, under God”, a “Christian nation”, is in rebellion to God,
that nation defames God’s name, and God’s righteous judgment will make them a
reproach, a byword among the nations. The nations will say, ‘where is their
God?” When we petition God for blessings
for our nation and to “calm the storms” we find all around us, our focus and
concern needs to be God’s name and not our comfort.
[Joe 2:15-17 NASB] 15
Blow a trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly, 16
Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the
children and the nursing infants. Let the bridegroom come out of his room And
the bride out of her [bridal] chamber. 17 Let the priests, the LORD'S
ministers, Weep between the porch and the altar, And let them say, "Spare Your people, O LORD, And do
not make Your inheritance a reproach, A byword among the nations. Why should
they among the peoples say, 'Where is their God?'"
Now is the time to do Joel 2:15-17!
This
election is about the destiny of America and the timing of last days events.
This election is going to be Biblical.
